David Rigert was an Olympic weightlifter for the Soviet Union. Known as “The Unbeatable,” he won gold at the Summer Games in 1976 and set 68 world records during his career. In 1999 he was elected to the International Weightlifting Federation Hall of Fame.
He has been the national team coach for Russia since 2007.
