Discus

As a youth, I became acquainted with Al Oerter. Al later became world famous as a discus thrower who achieved the unheard distinction of winning four gold medals in four consecutive Olympics in the sport of discus throwing. My thoughts of him inspired me to create my discus sculpture. I was shocked and saddened to hear of Al’s death in the early part of 2008.
