While growing up in the small town of Lawn, near Hershey, PA, Sandi Lee started cultivating her love for art and photography. In high school, she pursued her love of the arts by working as a scene painter for a summer stock theater, painting murals and designing promotional materials. She attended York Academy of Arts to study graphic design and photography and won first place in special effects photography in her senior student exhibition.
Taking pictures became a hobby for Sandi Lee as she pursued her commercial art career. For several years she worked as a senior art director at a number of major Philadelphia-based advertising agencies yet always nurtured her love of photography.
Recently retired from a design position at Tidewater Community College in Norfolk, VA, Sandi is now spending more time pursuing her photography passion. Her love of fishing and boating is a perfect inspiration for rekindling her love of capturing perfect “moments in time” that photography provides. Her knowledge of graphic design and digital technology has provided the ideal opportunity to make that transition a reality.
Sandi Lee lives with her husband tom on a farm in Creeds, VA. Together they spend many hours exploring and capturing the natural beauty of the woods and waters in the Back Bay and Currituck Sound area near Virginia Beach – a place she calls “heaven on earth.”
